Festive Val: Coffee Culture
I woke this morning knowing it would be a good day, but I didn't know the extent.

Yesterday, one of my roommates pointed out that Coffee Culture announced their holiday drinks. Coffee Culture is a coffee shop located extremely close to my house. I don't go as regularly as I someone would think considering the distance, but I had a neutral experience when I first moved to Gainesville.
We all made a pact that we would wake up to go get coffee at 8 am. This was especially difficult for one of my roommates because she is used to waking up past mid-day, but deep down we knew it was more than just a cup of coffee. Two out of the four in my house, including myself, are moving next semester. My friend, Valeria, is spending her semester back home, just like me. The only difference is that to me home means Spain. We will transition from being together everyday to double checking the time, so the time zone does not interfere with our daily conversations.
After we all had our unspoken agreement that we will take advantage of every minute remaining, we all woke up at the same time. It felt like destiny. We were all getting ready when I got a notification on my phone that Taylor Swift had dropped a sister album to my favorite album, Folklore. During quarantine, I was able to better express myself through her music.
The good thing about good friends is that they listen to you, and learn to love what you do because they enjoy seeing you happy about the subject. Naturally, I got them all into the Swift groove. They were all (almost) as excited as I was about this out-wordly phenomenon.
We walked to the coffee shop with the idea of buying each one item from the menu and listen to Evermore under a beautiful day.
When we got to the place, first thing I noticed is that they closed indoors seating. We ordered a nutcracker latte, toasted marhsmello latte and a gingerbread latte with soy milk (mine!)
The first sip completely reinvented the idea I had of the place and made me want to come back. My drink tasted like a gingerbread house with lots of cinnamon, like a hug in a mug. The espresso is very rich, and the coffee flavors are so unique that is worth coming and trying your favorite before the season comes to an end.
Thank you to the heart-warming coffee and immaculate music, the energies were so high we haven’t come down from the high. Now that my life is taking a complete spin that requires me being 6 hours apart from my best friends, I want to bring you along. People say one truly know about a culture by tasting the food; I hope this apply to coffee. I declared it. I hope you will want to stay and not only see me figure out the city but myself in the process. In the meantime, I will leave the link to my favorite songs from Evermore and FolkloreIf you decide to re-read this post while listening to any of these songs, you might picture us in the trees.
